Physical, Dental, & Vision Exams

Elkhorn Area School district believes that a healthy student is a successful student. Regular physical, dental, and vision exams are an important component in overall student well-being.

EASD requests physical examinations for all students entering kindergarten, fourth, seventh, and ninth grade. A physical examination may be required to participate in athletics and other extracurriculars. WI State Law requires that all students entering 4K have a physical examination on-file at their 4K Center within the first 90 days of school.

Dental examinations are requested for all students entering kindergarten, fourth, seventh, and ninth grade. Dental examinations are important, as the teeth and gums affect the wellness of children through their position, ability to chew, speech, and the overall appearance of a healthy smile.

The State of Wisconsin encourages families of kindergartners to arrange for their student’s eyes to be examined by an optometrist or evaluated by a physician by December 31 of the student’s first year in school.
